Mr. Prado
I am an 8th-grade math and science teacher with 19 years of experience in education. Before teaching, I worked as a tutor and mentor for foster youth, helping prepare them for emancipation. My teaching journey has included first, fifth, and sixth grades, as well as 8th-grade U.S. History. For seven years, I served as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), and for the past five years, I have focused on teaching math and science to 8th graders, a group I truly enjoy. I earned my bachelor's degree and multiple-subject teaching credential from California Polytechnic University Pomona, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am passionate about learning new strategies to enhance my classroom. Outside of teaching, I’m a devoted husband and father of two. My daughter plays varsity volleyball and soccer at Duarte High School, keeping our family busy. We love exploring new foods, hiking, and going on road trips. Our last adventure took us from California to Mount Rushmore, South Dakota, where we traveled through nine states. I’m already planning our next big trip for next summer!
Thank you,
Mr. Prado
